Erectile Dysfunction and Testosterone Therapy: Understanding Challenges

Regret Regarding Fertility Preservation Decisions Among Male Cancer Patients. The Journal of Urology, 201(Supplement 4), e680-e681. Feasibility Study of Video Telehealth Clinic Visits in Urology. The Journal of Urology, 201(Supplement 4), e545-e545. Erectile dysfunction is a condition in which you have trouble getting or keeping an erection firm enough for satisfying sex.

5. Do a Patch Test First

Erectile dysfunction affects as many as 30 million men in the United States. Premature ejaculation (PE) is a sexual dysfunction characterized by a short ejaculatory latency, a perceived lack of control about the timing of ejaculation, and distress and interpersonal difficulty related to ejaculating too quickly. Low testosterone or testosterone deficiency, also known as hypogonadism, is a condition in which patients develop symptoms such as low sex drive, erectile dysfunction (ED), and fatigue because the body doesn’t produce enough testosterone. Though many men don’t like to talk about it, ejaculation problems are very common. Some of the most common issues include premature, delayed, or retrograde ejaculation. in Radiologic Science, Chemistry Minor, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Cowan, B, Walker, K., Rodgers, K., Agyemang, J. While erection gels are genuinely effective and safer than many alternatives, they're quick fixes that enhance your natural response rather than treating underlying health issues - so consider them as part of a broader approach to sexual wellness that includes lifestyle improvements and addressing any root causes of ED. Erection gels are becoming a popular option for erectile dysfunction, especially for men who want a fast-acting solution without pills or injections. These gels are applied directly to the penis and are designed to support erections by improving local blood flow or stimulation, often within 5-15 minutes. But here’s the important part: not every “sex gel” sold is meant for ED. Some products are designed for premature ejaculation (timing issues) and may not help with erections at all.

That’s why choosing the right type of gel matters. In this guide, we’ll explain how erection gels work, which options are actually available in India, what they realistically help with, and how to use them safely. Erection gel is a type of sexual wellness product that you apply directly to the penis before sex to help with erection problems and also helps in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Unlike pills, which work by going through your whole body, these erection gels for erectile dysfunction act locally on the surface — a mechanism also used by delay sprays for ED. They’re mainly helpful for men with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction, especially when the cause is mental or emotional, like performance anxiety. Cowan, B, Walker, K., Rodgers, K., Agyemang, J. • Gels are a popular choice due to ease of use.
  • They can be part of lifestyle modifications for ED.

  • Men should avoid alcohol and certain medicines before use.
  • Gels are a non-surgical, non-invasive option.
  • Research continues to develop more effective formulations.
  • Patient education on application is crucial.
  • Follow-up visits ensure optimal treatment results.

Rahel Stoll
