Since childhood, I wanted to work in a profession that helps and supports people. I was fascinated by gynecology and obstetrics early on in my medical training at the University of Zurich, where I passed my state examination in 1985. I wrote my dissertation in this field during my medical studies and received my doctorate on January 1, 1986. My training at various clinics led me to become a specialist in general internal medicine FMH in 1994. In the following years I worked first partly, then exclusively in gynecology and obstetrics, in addition to my most beautiful task of being a mother of three now grown-up children. In 2002, a dear colleague let me work as an independent gynecologist in her practice in Zurich Oerlikon. After a steady increase in patients, I was later able to take over the gynecological practice in Opfikon independently. For many years, accompanying “my women” in and out of pregnancy was and is a great joy and fulfillment for me. Grateful for their many years of trust, I am now fortunate enough to hand over my practice to younger, competent and caring hands on July 1, 2022, while continuing to accompany patients.
